My new sewing studio

Well, my family had finally had it with my work being everywhere. I had my sewing and cutting in the family room. The computer and shipping in the dining room. The picture taking in front of the south facing window. So I am happy to say that after a few furniture moves I now have it all within one room!! Here are a few before and after pictures. I love it!!! Now I am not bothering anybody while I sew away !!! :)))

I rarely treat myself to a big breakfast since time is usually short in the morning and well lets face it, I know it is not considered "good for you". But if I eat a big breakfast I can work all day without getting hungry again until dinner time! So why not? It also gave me an excuse to relax and read a magazine - now that is rare!

How can this be?? I actually had a better sales month in April then last December? Well as an accountant I know that the numbers don't lie... so what is the explaination? I really do not have one. All I do know is that I am happy but very very tired. I did alot of custom work last month and now that summer is almost here I will be happy to spend alittle more time outside , reading, sitting in the sun and just plain relaxing.

Always want to post a picture so here is my lovely Pod Posey Wallet- this is by far one of my most favorite fabrics of all time. I must save some for myself!!!! :)))

Maintenance time!

I have been lazy but also too busy to do my quarterly maintenance on my sew machine. It runs so great that I sometimes take it for granted. Since I do most of this myself it just seems to be put off until a later date. The same with my computer, my husband reminded me just today that I need to go thru and delete files since my available space on the C drive was getting low. I tend to focus so much on creating and selling that I forget that these maintenance issues are just as important.

My newest obsession!! I love these newest designs of mine. Mainly because they provide so much extra room inside with hardly any extra fabric. I am still struggling with the top zipper part though and also the lining is not as neat as I would like. There are a few in my shop now at proto-type prices. I will be added more and hope to make it a regular shop item. Keep checking back as I improve on the designs. My goal is to try to have a variety of sizes and shapes.

That zippered magazine tote!

I love tote bags but I am just one of those women that has to have a zipper on all my bags. So I really never would carry one for any length of time. Well finally I made this one!!! This magazine/book tote bag is great because I love the extra security it provides with a zipper at the top!!! I also added a little pocket inside! The brown canvas provides extra sturdiness and the floral panel provides a great accent! It is now in my shop and hope to make a few more for those wonderful spring outings coming very soon (I hope)!!!

Keeping my sew area clean in 2008

This is the best my sew area has look in months. I was so proud that I actually took the morning off from Etsy, sewing and other tasks to clean up!!!

The natural sunlight coming into the room each morning sure does cheer me up. Especially in the past few days when it has been so very cold out!!

I am a firm believer in the importance of ones environment and how it effects your mood. So I am very lucky to have this bright, sunny room to sew in! Cheers for the New Year!! :))

I have had a great year on Etsy and my one year anniversary is January 15th. WOW has it really been a year already? Well, to celebrate my Etsyversary- I will need to give some serious thought as to what promo I should do. A JPAT giveaway? An out of this world sale? A customer appreciation drawing? Proto- type simple wallet

I have been working for the past month on a simple yet functional wallet. One that serves ones needs yet is small and simple. I made one already and it sold within one day when I listed it in my shop. I am in the process of fine tuning it. Here is another proto-type. Hope to have many more color selections in the coming New Year.

My oldest daughters wish list

Ever since I bought this fabric back in April my oldest daughter has been admiring it. Then one day about 2 weeks ago she made her Christmas list and one of the items on her list was a "JPATPURSE" in carnival creme with the label on the outside. I asked her what style bag but made no promises because this fabric was selling fast. Well I was able to save out just enough to do this bag up a few days ago!!! I know she will be so excited! She is a sweet teenager who asks for very little. Both of my daughters are my biggest fans so I was happy to be able to do this for her. Now, what about my youngest daughter? Well, she does love the scottie dog fabric, hummm.....

A very busy Etsy shop week!

I broke my one day record sales on December 6th- 30 items where sold in my Etsy shop that day!!! I was so very excited but very busy trying to keep my listings fresh. I have done some of my own shopping on Etsy also! Well, the missing fabric from an early post was finally made into this small coin purse today! Many more new fabrics and styles to come. I am currently working on a new simple wallet which sold in my shop as a proto- type!! Well back to it!

Who doesn't love these cookies? Every since my two daughters were little toddlers we have been making cookies together. Christmas time of course was especially busy. Now that they are both teenagers, it is harder to get the time between their schedules and mine. Well, this weekend we all found the time to make these holiday favorites! They loved it just as much now as they did when they were little. Happy baking everyone!!!

Gypsy Paisley blue- WOW!!!

Such a wonderful and vibrant color. It has silver accents around the paisley making it so elegant and classy looking. When you buy fabric online you never really know what it is going to look like in person! This one was a very welcome surprise! :)
