I have high hopes for the US with the new administration. I am not unrealistic but very hopeful!! Happy NEW YEAR!! My baby Ginger!

2008 coming to a close...
Well, I think over all this year was quite busy and successful. I had plans for many new designs that never came to be... maybe 2009!!! My family and I are planning a trip during the holidays to Sunny Florida :) Since it has rained or been cloudy here in East Tennessee for over 2 weeks , I am very much ready for some sun in my eyes!
When I get back, I plan on introducing several new items. I have been planning for months now a purse/wallet design that will keep things organized. I also am working on a better designed back pocket click-it wallet. Most every design that ever comes to production is due to my own needs. I am just awful at keeping my handbag organized- maybe this new design will be the ticket!!!
My best fabric source had a huge end of year sale where I was able to find some lovely new fabrics. This little shop has a real eye for hard to find and unique designer fabrics, so hopefully I will get some of these made up soon!
Oh yes one other big event!! I will be celebrating my 2 YEARs on Etsy in January!!! Wow-- it has been so fun and rewarding. So I of course will be having a BIG SALE!! More will be posted in the weeks to come but if you would like a special invite please just stop by my shop and send me a conversation or post a comment here with you email!! Happy Holidays and stay safe :)
Here is a quick preview of some of the items that will be ON SALE!!- many will be up to 50% off!!

Deals, specials, PIF's!
Recently I have been in the mood to do a little giving away. Could it be the holiday season of giving that has made me more generous? I don't really know for sure but maybe. In any case, Sunday I did 4 PIF's that were really quite lovely. The week before that I had some wonderful specials running on my catch-all clutches. So what about this week?
Well, I came up with "THE DEAL OF THE DAY". Each day for the next 10 days, I will feature one of my items or several depending on my giving mood, as the deal!!! Here are a couple for today!
Better keep checking my shop each day for that deal you just can't pass up :)

Yesterday was one of my local fabric suppliers BIG SALE -one day only!!! I wish I had my camera . It was so crazy- I waited to pay for my purchases for over 30 minutes. But what cute little creations I made up today!! Here is just a few--better come on into my shop this week and make a few Holiday gift purchases--hint hint ♥♥♥♥

A few new items!
Gadget Wristlet cases!! A fellow Etsian bought 10 of these wholesale for an upcoming craft fair in November. I thought they turned out so well that I made a few extra for my shop. Super handy for the cell phone, camera or just plain cute for a regular wristlet purse.

On a personal note
Due to a recent illness, I will be having the first of two surgeries tomorrow morning. I really feel that in the long run this will improve my quality of life. For over 6 months I have experience chronic fatigue. So after visiting several Doctors I feel like we might of found the source. I am hopeful anyway.
In regards to my shop, I think it will slow me down abit during recovery but not stop me from keeping my shop well stocked. It will also put a longer time for custom orders to be completed.
So overall I will be down but not out!!!
A pictures of my companion during my recovery!

Revisiting the classics
At the beginning of the summer, I promised myself that I would return to a few books that I had read during my college years. So I started with Jane Austen.
Well, I have just finished two of her most famous ones-" Pride and Prejudice" and "Sense and Sensibility". I am almost done with "Persuasion".
I personally find these books refreshing due to Jane Austens writing style and subject matter. What a treat for me to finally be able to revisit such wonderful classic literature. I hope to continue on my quest to finish all her works into the fall!!

SUPER SALE SUCCESS!!
What a sale!!! I decided at the very last minute last weekend to have a super 50% off sale on some of my items. It turned out to be extremely successful! I took a couple of really quick pics before I finished packaging and shipping out all the orders.
When will be the next 50% off sale- you ask? Well, this one really wore me out lol!!! But I do think I will make this a semi-annual event. But next time I will be abit more prepared! :))

It does seem to be more and more difficult for me to find the time to blog. I have very good intensions but then it is 10 pm and I did not get a few minutes to blog! Summer comes to an unoffical close for my family since both of my daughters start school tomorrow. Now I have two in high school-yikes!!! I am ok really :))

My side trip to Hancock's of Paducah
During my recent vacation out to New Mexico for our family reunion, we decided to drive from Knoxville , Tennessee to St. Louis since we still had friends to visit from the days of living there. On the way we drove thru Paducah, KY... so of course a stop at Hancock's of Paducah was in order.
What FUN!!!!
I could of spend hours and hours in that store. But since my daughters and husband were with me I knew that I must make quick work of my selections.
Actually they were really a BIG help finding some of my best sellers.
They also found the end of bolt bin for only $4.98 a yard!!!!
As you can see I think I gave one of the sales ladies a headache lol!!!!

I found many new fabrics which will hit my Etsy shop in the coming weeks. All to soon we were back on the road, but what a wonderful way to break up our road trip that day!!!

It is a little cutie!
My featured seller on Etsy was so much fun!! If you have not had a chance to read it please do.
Well, we had a wonderful trip out West to visit family. I wanted to really enjoy my vacation and try to relax since I knew I was coming home to 16 custom orders!!!
I have now started on them and all my customers have been so wonderful and patient. I also wanted to make myself my latest back pocket click it wallet. I love this Aqua Fresh fabric so I made another for my shop.
Another wonderful part of my trip was stopping in at Hancocks of Paducah for some wonderful additions to my fabrics. I had my daughter take pictures so that will be in the next post!!!

My new sewing studio
Well, my family had finally had it with my work being everywhere. I had my sewing and cutting in the family room. The computer and shipping in the dining room. The picture taking in front of the south facing window. So I am happy to say that after a few furniture moves I now have it all within one room!! Here are a few before and after pictures. I love it!!! Now I am not bothering anybody while I sew away !!! :)))

Old fashion bacon and eggs!
I rarely treat myself to a big breakfast since time is usually short in the morning and well lets face it, I know it is not considered "good for you". But if I eat a big breakfast I can work all day without getting hungry again until dinner time! So why not? It also gave me an excuse to relax and read a magazine - now that is rare!
